Teach For Armenia is a nonprofit organization based in Yerevan, Armenia. We envision Armenia and Artsakh where all children can unlock their potential through an excellent education. Our mission is catalyzing a movement of impact-driven leaders who increase educational opportunities nationwide. We do this by recruiting and training recent university graduates and professionals to teach in rural communities for a period of two years. Our program participants are called Teacher-Leaders. After their time in the classroom, Teacher-Leaders become Alumni-Ambassadors who go on to advocate for educational equity across sectors and at every level of leadership. Founded by Larisa Hovannisian in 2013, we currently place 175 Teacher-Leaders in all ten regions of Armenia, as well as Artsakh. We reach over 30,000 students in 157 school communities.
